Lobster stocks in Swedish waters are overexploited and an improvement of the stock status would also improve the possibilities for a profitable lobster fishery in the future. Limiting fishing possibilities for lobster to a smaller number of fishers could decrease effort and improve stock status.
The aim of the project is to discuss how the lobster fishery would be affected by access limitations. We analyze the importance of the lobster fishery for the incomes of fishers and discuss possible effects on incomes of potential limitations.
The project is commissioned by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and will be finished in Spring 2018.
