Shifting taxes in agriculture

Swedish agriculture is currently subject to reductions in both the carbon dioxide and diesel energy tax. The official report on fossil free agriculture (SOU 2021:67) proposed to remove the reductions, and that agriculture is compensated with a general tax reduction that depends on the total revenues of each firm. In this project, we analyse the effects of such a tax shift on agricultural production and environmental impact. The project is carried out during 2024.
