Both fisheries and aquaculture are severely affected by the current Covid-19 situation. At the EU level, there is no systematically collected information about the effects on the industries or the measures taken by national governments.

The purpose of the project is to get an overview of how Covid-19 has affected fisheries and aquaculture in the EU by compiling already documented effects for all member states. The project is financed by the EU commission and coordinated by the Thünen institute in Germany. AgriFood is responsible for Sweden and Finland.

The project will end in spring 2021.
